Skellefteå Älvdal received notification of operational start for the implementation of the development strategy March 16, 2016, as one of 48 approved leader areas in Sweden. We have worked with locally led development within our geographical area, the municipalities of Norsjö, Malå, and Skellefteå through the leader method.
Over the years, Skellefteå Älvdal has supported a large number of projects – everything from the development of local tourism and cultural events to initiatives for integration and entrepreneurship. The result has often been increased activity and engagement in rural areas, more job opportunities, new collaborations, and a stronger local identity. During the period 20160201 – 20231212, we have handled 449 cases, project applications, applications for changes, applications for payments, etc. 145 project applications have been processed, of which 65 projects have been finalized.
