Leader Skellefteå Älvdal is a non-profit association. During the period 2023–2027, we will conduct activities in three municipalities: Malå, Norsjö, and Skellefteå, with the exception of Skellefteå central location.
With us, it is possible to apply for support for rural development. Authorities, municipalities, regions, associations, other organizations, and companies can apply for funding for their idea. Project support, project support for companies, and feasibility studies are three initiatives.
Funders
The money for the work and projects within Leader comes from the EU (European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development) as well as from the Swedish state, but also from Malå, Norsjö, and Skellefteå municipalities and Region Västerbotten.
Selection process
The Leader association has an open and non-discriminatory selection process to prioritize projects. The selection procedure is designed to enable the selection of projects that contribute to achieving the goals of the strategy. The Leader association prioritizes projects using locally designed selection criteria. No single sector; private, non-profit, or public has more than 49% of the votes. After prioritization, the Leader association determines the support amount. Finally, the Swedish Board of Agriculture conducts a final check of eligibility for support and makes the decision that is sent out to applicants.
Operations office
The operations office helps and supports project owners from project application to project completion. We are happy to come out to you to discuss ideas. It is important to have a continuous dialogue between the operations office and project owners during the project period for the projects to achieve the goals, results, and effects that are sought.
The association's board
The board is the decision-making body for assessing and prioritizing incoming applications. It is important that the board is well-informed about the tasks it has, therefore no substitutes are elected. The municipalities can nominate both officials and politicians.
The board makes decisions on which applications are prioritized within the framework of the strategy; it is an active and transparent group that contributes knowledge based on its area of expertise and the strategy as a whole.
