Collaboration, participation, and hospitality
Focus area 1 includes collaboration; participation and hospitality. An open society where everyone has the opportunity to be involved, influence and contribute to development is an important factor for progress. The future Leader Skellefteå Älvdal must be shaped by young people and newcomers from different regions and countries. When young people are given increased opportunities to influence and create the future Leader Skellefteå Älvdal, the chance that they feel proud of their hometown and dare to believe in and invest in it increases.
Good hospitality is important to attract more residents. Integration and hospitality are interconnected. Many of those who move here have their backgrounds in other countries and cultures. With increased knowledge of good hospitality and other cultures, it becomes easier for newcomers to feel welcome and quickly become aware of and part of the local community. There is plenty of room for more people here, both physically, in the labor market, and in social contexts. With new people also comes competence, new perspectives, and new ideas that enrich our area.
Focus area 1 encompasses projects that contribute to collaboration, participation and hospitality through:
- more and new ways to harness engagement and ideas in all ages and across organizational boundaries
- that young people and young adults are involved in the development and feel that they can influence it
- better hospitality to meet people
- that newcomers quickly gain knowledge and become part of the local community
- strengthening identity-creating processes and making different perspectives visible
- development of future formats for non-profit activities
Focus areas
Focus areas constitute the strategy's tools and indicate in which areas the development efforts should take place. The efforts are based on a completed SWOT analysis, survey, and area description. Based on identified needs, there are two additional focus areas. These are; leisure and housing as well as sustainability, local offerings, and entrepreneurship.
